Quite interesting words

I love words and find the weird ones fascinating... Here's a list of "useful" new words:

TARTLE (Scottish)  -  the moment when you have to introduce someone but you just can’t remember their name.

FUDGEL - (18th C.) Pretending to work when you're not actually doing anything.

ACNESTIS – the part of your back you can’t quite reach to scratch

LALOCHEZIA: the relief you get from stress or pain by using filthy words.

ONOMATOMANIA - the frustration of being unable to think of the appropriate word.

HYPNAGOGIA - the state of not being fully awake, but not being asleep either.

MOROSOPH - a fool who thinks he’s cleverer than he is.

OORIE – miserable as a result of cold weather.

APRICITY - the warmth of the sun on a cold winter’s day.

OMNILEGENT – reading everything or addicted to reading.

GIGIL (Tagalog) - the irresistible urge to squeeze something or someone that is unbearably cute.

This is an interesting comment on a confused word:

Television? The word is half Greek half Latin. No good can come of it. - C. P. SCOTT (1846-1932)
