This camelia is almost too perfect!

I'm terribly late posting today. We went to Tulle and it took us longer than expected... Here's a photo of a perfect camelia:

An intimate look at flowers

These beautiful, delicate flowers weren't captured by a regular camera... These are X-rays!

Interesting white flowers

Hey Amy, have you ever seen these flowers before? The rain performs some magic on them!

[Diphylleia grayi, also known as the skeleton flower, has white petals that turn transparent with rain. When dry, they revert to white.]

A bunch of potheads

No, not that kind of pothead!

[Amy and anybody else near the earthquake, please touch base!]

Our village - Part 2

I selected some more photos of our village. I have many, many more, but I can't post too many pictures because they take forever to upload and I could sit here all day waiting for the post to be ready for publication! I decided to concentrate on the flowers (with a couple of exceptions), so there's a theme of sorts...

Beauty to brighten up a rainy Sunday

We had very unfriendly weather last night, with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. It's still quite yucky out there, black clouds threatening another downpour and very high winds. These two pictures should cheer me up every time I go to the blog today...

Boys meet girls

GrannyJ sent me some pictures of these "boy" flowers:

Then I saw these "girl" flowers on Facebook:

They go really well together, don't you think?

[Thank you, GJ!]

Not for Amy's garden...

I came across photos of this weird rose and did a bit of googling to find out whether they were real or photoshopped. The roses are indeed black in appearance and grow in Halfeti, Turkey. Unless Amy decided to go B&W, I can't see her trying to grow them.

Orchids

These orchids look quite unusual. Maybe it's my eyesight, but I think they look like bunches of daffodils...

Will the rain ever stop?

The weather has been very disappointing around here, so I decided to post some pictures of flowers to cheer myself up. I hope they'll cheer you up as well!

Amy's sweet peas

I had these pictures in an open thread on the old blog. I really like them and hope Amy will send us more photos of her flowers as they bloom...
