Yesterday I was in the middle of a post...

... when the power was cut off. The weather was absolutely atrocious yesterday, very, very windy, with 90km/hour gusts. The power came back in time for cooking lunch, but the internet stayed down until today. We went grocery shopping this afternoon and saw many trees down, and some were uprooted!

We didn't go out at all yesterday and we now know it was a wise decision. We just hope nobody was injured during the storm...

The post I lost will go up tomorrow.

Splash!

These natural pools are very inviting... It's still very hot and humid here, with no end in sight!

A hot hot hot post

The temperature here reached 38 Celsius (100.4F) yesterday and today promises more of the same...

[I posted this earlier than usual, in a hurry, because I have a medical appointment in Tulle...]

Dramatic weather

View sent us this time-lapse video. It's quite impressive! Thank you, View.

Video info from Youtube:

The menacing, magnificent storm clouds of Wyoming come to swirling life in this time-lapse, "Stormscapes," by photographer Nicolaus Wegner. He braved lightning and the erratic fury of supercell storms to capture these images in the summer of 2013.

Beauty to brighten up a rainy Sunday

We had very unfriendly weather last night, with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. It's still quite yucky out there, black clouds threatening another downpour and very high winds. These two pictures should cheer me up every time I go to the blog today...

Hard hitting weather

Hail seems to be the "in" thing these days. There was a major hailstorm in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Monday 19. Yesterday Colorado had loads of hailstones and today we woke up to a huge hailstorm, then had another one after lunch. A friend from London also reported a hailstorm this lunchtime.

Sao Paulo, Brazil

Denver, Colorado
It's sunny now, but who knows how long it will last? Yesterday we had some lively weather during the day and I took a couple of pictures of a spectacular sunset, thinking the weather had finally settled, but by the time we went to bed, we had to pull all plugs as a big storm approached. After that, the only plugs were in my ears! They're very useful for snoring and thunder... (taser doesn't work for thunder)

A warming post for today

We had a freezing post yesterday. Let's get warm!

I'm posting this quickly from the i-pad because we have some friends arriving any minute now...

I just saw this joke and it seems to go well with the theme.

As a trucker stops at a red light, a blonde catches up. She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck, and knocks on the door. The trucker lowers the window, and she says "Hi, my name is Heather and you're losing some of your load."

The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street. When the truck stops for another red light, the girl catches up again. She jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door. Again, the trucker lowers the window. As if they've never spoken, the blonde says brightly, "Hi my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"

Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street. At the third red light, the same thing happens again. All out of breath, the blonde gets out of her car, runs up, knocks on the truck door. The trucker lowers the window. Again she says "Hi, my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"

When the light turns green the trucker revs up and races to the next light. When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back to the blonde's car. He knocks on her window, and as she lowers it, he says "Hi, my name is Kevin, it's winter in Michigan and I'm driving the SALT TRUCK!"
