I find these necklaces very pretty, love the colours. I like the idea, but I'm too short and too old to wear something so large around my neck. They would make nice mobiles, though. [These accessories are made by Derya Aksoy.]

Bottled elegance
This post will hit the right notes with our CC. I was leafing through a glossy magazine the other day and admired the many ads for perfume showing exquisite bottles. I decided to look for some classic and special edition bottles for this post. I dare say some of these bottles are nicer than the fragrances they contain... Not to mention how the big houses have reformulated their well known classics, then lied about having done so, insulting the intelligence (and the nose) of the more discerning customer!

Black & White fashion
When I did the post about 1950's fashion, I came across many pictures by the eccentric British photographer Norman Parkinson. I had too many photos for that one, so I saved these for a new post.

Curiosity: the model in the middle of the black and of the white pictures is Parkinson's third wife, Wenda Rodgerson. Here she is again, in a very lovely photo:

Fashion with a difference
I don't know if you remember the post where a cartoonist added drawings to popcorn to create images of animals and people. These remind me of that post, only the results are pretty instead of comical...

A bit of nostalgia
There's something incredibly stylish about fashion in the 50s. These days garments hang on the hips, which is very uncomfortable (and unsightly on ladies of a certain age...).
Some of these photos made me think of Amy:
