A wonderful weekend

My family spent last weekend in a cabin in the woods near the Wisconsin Dells. We were only about five minutes from town but we were in a very secluded area on a lake. There were eleven of us, and to say we had a good time doesn't begin to describe our experience.

We all contributed to the meals and I must say we enjoyed very good food, which we took turns preparing. We certainly did not go hungry!

We had some delicious drinks as well. Plus plenty of beer!

Saturday was spent on the water with kayaks, a canoe and a rowboat.

In the evening we had a fire by the lake and made S'mores.

We ventured into town on Friday for dinner. The group is missing my youngest daughter and her boyfriend. He took her to a nearby vegan restaurant which was very good.

We had so much fun and we are looking forward to more trips in the future 😃

P.S.
I asked my kids if it was ok to show their pictures, it was not a problem for any of them. My youngest did have one request. Her friend watched Duncan for the weekend, and my daughter wanted me to include this photo of him dressed in the outfit her friend bought for him. We both thought everyone would enjoy it. ( Youngest is the one in the kayak so I didn't forget her either.)  😉

Dapper Dunc!

P.S.S.
Happy Fathers Day P!!!

Short and Sweet

Sometimes I come across something that really resonates with me. This little cartoon is one of those things. I think that all us WTIOCers are at this place in life also.

Here's to a wonderful weekend, friends!

No kidding

I thought these were self explanatory,  but it never hurts to be reminded. 😉

Nine important facts to remember as we grow older:
Number 9 - Death is the number 1 killer in the world.
Number 8 - Life is sexually transmitted.
Number 7 - Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
Number 6 - Men have two emotions: hungry and horny, and they can't tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.
Number 5 - Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.
Number 4 - Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing.
Number 3 - All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
Number 2 - In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.
Number 1 - Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers. What you do today might burn your butt tomorrow.
...and as someone recently said to me don't worry about old age; it doesn't last that long

Have a good week everyone!

Summer may be here

It appears that the weather has finally warmed up in my neck of the woods.  Here are a few pictures to start the weekend.

Now for some really beautiful flowers, courtesy of Amy, who always does things right!

So gorgeous!

Then there is this guy, who truly loves a nice day on the patio.

Enjoy the next few days everyone 😊

Wednesday Groaners

Who's ready for some groaners?

Why do scuba divers fall backward out of the boat?
Cause if they fell forward they'd still be in the boat.

What did the daughter corn ask the mother corn?
Where's popcorn.

Why do birds fly south for the winter?
It's way too far to walk.

What did the tired criminal need?
Arrest.

What's brown and sticky?
A stick.

Two fish are in a tank.
One fish says to the other fish,
do you know how to drive this thing?

What did the ocean say to the shore?
Nothing, it just waved.

Have a great day, everyone!

Friday is here

This has been an exhausting week. Q's husband had surgery, and fortunately is doing well. TW dealt with some nasty stormy weather, and while there was damage and some injuries, no fatalities have been reported. Good news for the WTIOC crowd.

I woke up yesterday morning to Duncan barking his fool head off. He was focused on the living room window.

It turns out a tree split in our front yard. It was actually our neighbors tree, on the property line.

Luckily it did not fall towards the house.

You can imagine how stressed out Duncan was watching the tree demolition take place....

All is good now, the tree is gone.

Our boy Duncan got some much needed rest last night. 😊

Totally phoning it in...

1. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

2. Nothing irks me more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

                          3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest or Google Maps really need to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

                       12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection... again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

15. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

Thank you Amy for the assistance, I appreciate it as always. Rainy day indeed! 😃

Memorial Day Weekend

Thanks to all who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the United States of America and the freedoms we continue to enjoy. We will always remember.

Let's talk windows!

P, this is probably not what you had in mind, but it is the best I could do. 😃  Turns out a post about installing windows is not that easy! So a little humor is in order...

Have a good day everyone. Thanks to P, GJ, and Mike for the inspiration for this post 😏
