I think I need a day to wind down. I suspect many of you do as well. Let's take a few moments and just relax. Reality can wait for a bit.

Getting Into The Holiday Spririt
This year many of us are having a difficult time getting into the holiday spirit. I'm putting one foot in front of the other, and doing what feels comfortable. We put up our tree yesterday and trimmed it with all of our decorations. You can see we need a new tree-topper-- the angel's lights finally blew out after 20 years!
I enjoy looking at each ornament and remembering where they came from or who made them. I picked up this fun pair this afternoon. Maybe they're a happy sign about our upcoming family vacation!
These two boxes contain vintage ornament which we found in my parents' attic during the cleanout. This was my share of them! I'm going to put these on now, but I may need a bigger tree!
I hope anyone struggling this holiday season takes time for themselves, and just do what you're up for. Remember, even in "normal" years, the holidays can be hard enough. We'll get by with a little help from our WTIOC friends.

Happy Weekend!!
Good morning, friends! Pull up a chair and let me get you a cappuccino.
We're getting our Christmas tree today. I can't wait!
What do you have planned for the weekend?
**** To everyone who has not sent Regina your handwriting samples, please do it soon, the more the merrier, this will be fun! 😉 The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, both in cursive and print. ****

Humor me once again
**** First, to everyone who has not sent Regina your handwriting samples, please do it soon, the more the merrier, this will be fun! 😉 The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, both in cursive and print. ****
Now back to my daily boring activities. I mentioned in a past comment that I received an Instant Pot from my girls as an early Christmas gift. We have used it a couple of times. The first time was an attempt at Rice and Beans which turned out really well! It was used in taco bowls. So good!
Our second attempt was Lentil soup. We messed it up a little bit but it tasted great!!
My daughter and her best friend agree.
Have a great day !

It"s that time of year
This past weekend was dreary and rainy. The good news is that all the snow melted from the storm last week... The bad news is it was dreary and rainy as mentioned above. Sigh. Perfect weather to start decorating for Christmas. My heart wasn't in it but with some teamwork things are starting to come together. I like a holiday drink while decorating and decided to make hot buttered rum. An old recipe that I make every few years.
Disclaimer..This is not even the least little bit healthy.
It was delicious as always and I consider the weekend a success.
Holiday memories can be difficult, but it is so nice to have a reason to look back.
Enjoy the next few weeks everyone.

Have a Great Week!!
Good morning, friends!! Pour yourself a cup of your favorite beverage, and pull up a chair. Let's catch up on the goings on in our lives.
I'm not an early morning person, especially on Mondays. However this Monday, I'm up early with DH, who starts a new job in Boston today. After 18+ years at the same firm, he's taking a leap to another firm that offers him greater opportunities. There will be some growing pains with the commute- - 5 miles vs 25 miles- - and driving right into the city. He'll leave home super early, and return after 7:00. But hey, I hear that absence makes the heart grow fonder!!
What's new with you?

Competition
Q had a great idea for a competition: handwriting! Each of you sends me this text - The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog, both in cursive and print.

I'll organise the competition in a post early next week, after I recover from jetlag. I'm going to Miami tomorrow, arriving Saturday.
We'll have fun!

Relax
At the end of this long holiday weekend, I hope that everyone has a chance to put their feet up to relax, whether it's with a book, a glass of wine, or simply a nap.

It's Game Day!!
Our favorite match-up is today at noon. We all owe our love for Michigan to a very special guy. Let's hope that P will stop by to say hello and to see our enthusiasm for our boys in maize and blue. This year, our Wolverines aren't playing in The Big House, which incidentally holds 107,601 fans. The game is being played in Ohio Stadium, which only holds 102,082. See that, we have them beat already!
Michigan's Marching Band is one of the finest in the country. Here's a video of one of their performances this season: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIojYbkFH1c
