Christmas humour

A guy bought his wife a beautiful diamond ring for Christmas.

A friend of his said, "I thought she wanted one of those 4-wheel drive vehicles?"

"She did," he replied, "But where in the world was I going to find a fake jeep???"

Black and white photography at its best

Henri Cartier-Bresson is one of the most celebrated French photographers. He liked spontaneous shots and even blackened the silvery bits of his faithful Leika in order to be discreet. I have a copy of the first photo on one of my walls...

Weird, beautiful dress

This is an incredible dress! It was designed by Elodie Le-Prunennec.

Natural designs

Nature can produce breathtaking designs. The walls of this salt mine in Sicily are very beautiful.

It's that time of the year...

I like to find original ideas for Christmas trees. I must confess that it gets harder to find new ones each year! Some of the trees are different takes on designs previously posted.

[As my memory is a bit dodgy, I hope this collection doesn't contain exact repeats.]

Not an easy craft!

View sent me a link to a Brazilian Facebook post featuring this video. I had to do my homework and find it on YouTube so it could be shared on the blog. Thanks, View, it was worth it!

Chocolate!

This is a public information post. It's not a self-indulgent, decadent post. Oh no...

Women's purses

I had this post saved as a draft, for a rainy day. Well, it's not raining, but I'm still too excited to do a fresh post! Billy and Sandra sent their thanks for all your good wishes and love.

A husband was trying to embarrass his wife at a party by going on and on about all the stuff women carry in their purses.

Instead of blushing,  she said, “You’re right. There IS too much stuff in my purse.” So she removed his wallet, cigarettes, lighter, and car keys and handed them to him.

When he asked what he was supposed to do with them, she smile sweetly and said, “Get your own purse!"

She's here!

Today at 9am (Central European Time) I became a grandmother! Emilia Rosalie weighs a healthy 3,06kg (6lb 12oz) and Sandra and Billy are incredibly proud, bursting with love. We had a video call about an hour after the birth and we noticed that the little bundle of joy is a chatterbox. They said she doesn't cry, just chats and complains when she wants a feed. Sandra needed a cesarean section because the baby was in a sitting position and wouldn't budge, despite attempts to turn her last week. We have a very determined granddaughter! Peter and I are totally in love with her already. I'm very emotional. Everytime I picture Billy with his own little baby girl, I well up. Billy has always, always loved babies, and he's a natural with children. Without further ado, before I flood the iPad with tears of happiness, here's the lovely family:

Insects and birds looking good!

Illustrator Vorja Sanchez, based in Barcelona, has a lovely light touch when doing birds and other very small creatures. He also has a slightly darker side, but I decided to leave those out.
