Do as you're told!

A guy is doing some handyman work at a house. Across the room is a large gray parrot on a perch.

The family dog comes into the room and jumps up on the couch. The parrot says, “Get off the couch!” and the dog jumps down immediately.

A small child comes into the room with toys and the parrot says, “Go to your room!” and the child picks up his toys leaves without hesitation.

The guy turns to the parrot and says, “I’ve never seen anything like that before."

The parrot looks at the guy and says, “Get back to work!”

A perfect quote

Good morning!

When we woke up this morning, we were greeted by this:

Then it rained a few cats and dogs, followed by this:

We're off to the swimming pool!

Peter has gone to the Bastille Day horse races in Pompadour with friends. I like to know they're looking after him while I'm away...

A tout à l'heure!

Applied mathematical logic

Here we have some humour, courtesy of View. Gracias, amigo!

This comes from 2 math teachers with a combined total of 70 yrs. experience. It has an indisputable mathematical logic.
This is a strictly ..... mathematical viewpoint... and it goes like this:
What Makes 100%?
What does it mean to give MORE than 100%?
Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%.
How about achieving 103%?
What makes up 100% in life?
Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions:
If we assign a number to each letter of the alphabet:

Then:
H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K
8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%
And
K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E
11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 =96%
But ,
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E
1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
And,
B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T
2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 =103%
AND, look how far ass kissing will take you.
A-S-S-K-I-S-S-I-N-G
1+19+19+11+9+19+19+9+14+7 =118%

So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty, that while Hard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there. It's the Bullshit and Ass Kissing that will put you over the top.
Now you know why some people are where they are!

Back to my favourite subject

I like art. I really like it when artists find different ways to express themselves. This guy falls in this category.

It should be quite spectacular

I've never spent 4th of July in the States before. I'm sure there will be a few fireworks...

Happy 4th of July!

Quick note from Miami

Yo, my lovely peeps! I'm totally jet-lagged and still exhausted from an absolutely epic journey. There are pitfalls to life in the sticks, such as the logistics of getting from A to B to C at the right time, etc etc etc. I spent more than 40 hours awake, walking miles in a very large airport or sitting uncomfortably for hours on end. No wonder I have the impression I landed on another planet! I'll try to post as often as possible. In the meantime, here are a couple of nice pictures:

Stylish, thought provoking paintings

I find some of these pictures contain accurate and intelligent criticism of modern life and politics. They're by Marco Melgrati, a young Italian illustrator from Milan, now based in Mexico City.
