Looking back at post from last February and talking about eggs

Cast your minds back to February 27th 2015. I published a post entitled "Wake up and have a boiled egg." The title was an excuse to post a photo of an endearing egg cup. Egg cup??? Boiled eggs??? Well, an epic and hilarious discussion ensued. I came across a picture of a group of eggs that reminded me of that post... Then I found a picture of a strange marriage involving an egg. Here are the original egg cup, the egg committee and the happy couple:

Two interesting photos of pets

This is a good one for dog and cat lovers.

The dog in the photo is Woody, a really nice guy. He belongs to a couple who divide their time between France and England. The cat is just a lovely stranger from the internet.

Posh car dealership

A lady walks into a BMW dealership. She browses around, spots a beautiful top-of-the-line one and walks over to inspect it. As she bends over to feel the fine leather upholstery, she inadvertently breaks wind.

Very embarrassed, she looks around nervously to see if anyone has noticed her little accident and prays that a sales person doesn't pop up right now.

As she turns around, her worst nightmare materializes in the form of a salesman standing right behind her. Cool as a cucumber and displaying complete professionalism, the salesman greets the lady with, "Good day, Madam. How may we help you today?"

Very uncomfortably, but hoping that the salesman may just not have been there at the time of her accident, she asks, "Sir, what is the price of this lovely vehicle?"

He answers, "Madam, if you farted just touching it, you are going to shit yourself when I tell you the price."

What's in a name?

There's a place in Newfoundland, Canada, with a funny name. This is real, peeps, and the inhabitants of said place don't want it changed!

The town was named after a certain Captain Dildo. I expect his surname precedes the object...

Hidden works of art

Queen of Sheeba sent us a link to an article about artwork hidden using a technique of painting on the edges of the pages of a book, called fore-edge painting. The artwork can only be seen when the pages are fanned. When the book is closed, you don’t see the image because it is hidden by the gilding, the gold leaf applied to the edges of the page.

The article contains numerous photos and some videos. Please make sure you visit the site to see them all, and to learn further details about the books. Thanks QoS, I found it fascinating!

Here's a sample:

The first two photos are from the University of Iowa Library, the others were courtesy of Boston Public Library and  following photo is courtesy of Johns Hopkins Library. It's a bible with split fore-edge painting:
