Lucky to live in the 21st Century?
This list shows the reasons why people were admitted to a mental hospital in West Virginia in the late 1800s. Some of them are priceless!

Meanwhile, in deepest France...
We went to the races at Pompadour last Friday. The winnings eluded us, apart from the very first race. We picked the only female rider and she did well! Our chosen horses came first in some other races, but alas, without their riders! A few people were dressed for the occasion, which made it quite colourful.
We have also acquired a new hobby. Geocaching is a treasure hunt, played with a GPS gizmo. We found two caches yesterday and there are many more in our area. It does make our doctor ordered daily walks a tad more interesting...

August birthdays
We have three birthdays this month. PGFan's was on the 12th and today it's Roxie's and Marie's birthdays. We need cakes!
Have a very happy and peaceful birthday, ladies... and many more to come!

Funny notices and bless the Irish...
Here are some funny notices. #3 is really an ad, but it's ingenious. The last one is a gem. It's from Ireland. Enough said.

I feel incredibly sad
Losing Robin Williams feels like a personal loss. He came across as a very sensitive and intelligent person. He had his battles with his personal demons and ultimately he lost. In reality, it's our loss, because he made a decision to free himself from his pain.
He made people laugh, but he could also move people, as he did in Dead Poet's Society and Good Will Hunting. What I know is that he always touched my heart.
I'm paying tribute to this very talented, generous man by showing his extraordinary knack to mimic accents and voices. RIP Robin Williams.

Something different
Yesterday we took a trip to Africa and enjoyed the rhythms of everyday life. Today we'll take a trip to the other side of the world for a bit of unusual dance. I'm not crazy about the music, but the movement is mesmerizing. Enjoy!

Everybody likes old cars
Ripley said that yesterday and it's true. It reminded me that I had some photos of a vintage car exhibition taken last week. There's a club in our village called Auto Passion and they meet every year at the main square, much to the delight of residents and tourists alike.
