Happy to scoop

Yesterday I said Pirate had finally used the litter tray and Lynn replied that I couldn't have predicted being happy to scoop the poop. Well, yesterday it was only pee... the real happiness came this morning. Pirate produced a respectable poo, the first since we brought him home on Wednesday!

Pirouette has been a bit weird, though. She won't be in the same room with him. Yesterday she approached him a few times, but only to sniff him and run away as fast as she can.

Pirate has been sleeping in the bathroom at night, but he prefers to stay in the kitchen during the day and next to us in the evening. Pirouette stays wherever he isn't! We're not experts in cat psychology, so any input from more seasoned cat owners is very welcome!

Pirate update

Pirate is home, wearing the cone of shame, but he looks quite comfortable. Olivier let us pay in instalments, so we're not destitute! All is well, thankfully.

We like birds here at WTIOC. These are quite lovely:

[Pirate update: his hip and knee are out of joint and the vet couldn't put them back in safely, so he's having surgery on Tuesday and we'll collect him on Wednesday. We're very relieved he'll be ok and by Wednesday our bank account will also be relieved of a few euros...  ]

Sleeping in on a lazy Sunday

This is MY very very very fine house!

Sleuth sent us a couple of photos of her cats. The first one shows Thelma (formerly Piglet) very comfortable in her very very very fine house (à la Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young).

Then Doorframe decided to move in and Thelma was not amused...
