Difficult decision

GrannyJ sent us this conundrum. It's topical and will test your morals. Thanks, GJ.

MORALS
Are you as moral as you think you are?
This test only has one question, but it's a very important one.
By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally.
The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.
Only you will know the results, so remember that your answer needs to be honest.

THE SITUATION:
You are in Florida, Miami to be specific.
There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding.
This is a flood of biblical proportions.
You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster.
The situation is nearly hopeless.
You're trying to shoot career-making photos.
There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water.

THE TEST:
Suddenly you see a man in the water.
He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris.
You move closer.
Somehow the man looks familiar.
You suddenly realize who it is.
It's Donald Trump!
At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever.

YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS:
You can save the life of Donald Trump or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful Republican men hell bent on the destruction of America.

THE QUESTION:
Here's the question, and please give an honest answer.
"Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?"

[I would go with black and white. The orange is a bit too much...]

Diverging preoccupations

Although I've been following the US presidential campaigns very closely, at the moment I'm very absorbed in campaigning against Brexit becoming a reality. We feel very despondent at times. Stupid politicians exist and thrive everywhere! Making the country great again seems to be a priority for shortsighted, xenophobic people on both sides of the pond...

The magic of children

Children give me hope.

Every child should carry a label saying, "Treat me with care, for I contains dreams."

Blue City

This is the old part of Chefchaouen, in Northern Morocco, also known as the Blue City. I may have posted a couple of photos of this city before, but these are really stunning!

Very interesting legal challenge

I'm posting quite late today because I've been reading the arguments in a legal challenge regarding the whole Brexit shenanigans. The British courts are nothing if not extremely polite!

You may be interested in reading some of it HERE.

Today I came across this beautiful photograph of our old neighbourhood in London. We miss it sometimes, but still prefer the quiet life in rural France. We hope Brexit will not disturb our peace...

Depends on how you look at these...

I must confess that some of them make me dizzy, until I twist my neck!

A great selfie

Looking at this picture makes me happy! Love the camel...

I'm sorry the posts have been a bit erratic. We were busy selling the old car we bought to tide us over while Paul and Marlee were here, and until we managed to go to London and get the new one. It's sold! We have another guy coming tomorrow to look at the old Honda, which we're selling as "spares or repair." Wish us luck...

Big birthday party for a very special person

Peter is 70 today. I still see him as the 33-year-old I met all those years ago. I only know him better, and love him more. Here's a collection of cakes, some of them depicting his favourite things: food, film, drinks, etc...

Happy birthday, my love. Thank you for spending your precious years with me, thank you for our two wonderful sons, thank you for being you.
