For cat lovers
Yesterday we had photos of some very energetic dogs. I promised something for the cat lovers and here it is, courtesy of 1smartcanerican. As you can see, cats are too laid back to chase balls or take a dip in the pool...
Thank you, 1smartcanerican.

Some interesting facts
It takes 7 seconds for food to pass from mouth to stomach.
A human hair can hold 3 kg.
The length of the penis is three times the length of the thumb.
The femur is hard as concrete.
A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.
Women blink twice as much as men.
We use 300 muscles just to hold our balance when we stand.
The woman has read this entire text. The man is still looking at his thumb.

War on women
Back in February I published a post based on an e-mail sent to me by Tumbleweed. This video encapsulates that e-mail:
Mrsgunka received the exact same e-mail from a "Fundie." They're desperate to counter the allegations of a war on women waged by the GOP and conclude the e-mail with these words:
So, refresh MY memory. Some women won't vote this year because - Why, exactly?
We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining? I'm so busy...I've got so much on my plate!
See again what these women went through for you! We can’t let all their suffering be for nothing.
It's ironic that the very same e-mail showing what women in the US went through to achieve equal rights is being used by the left and by the right to urge women not to relinquish these rights. In the case on the right wingers, it's simply the right to vote and they expect the recipients to vote for "anybody but Obama."
The left, on the other hand, recognizes that women have also achieved reproductive rights, such as legal abortions and contraception. They have also fought to achieve equal pay for equal work, which is being taken away by the likes of Gov. Scott Walker.
Then we have the darling of the right, Ann Coulter, saying stuff like this:
"If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women. It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care -- and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'"
The mind boggles...
I expect the women who are concerned about having more than their right to vote taken away from them to be better motivated to get out and vote in November.
